Why was there no mention of Pyarelal ji who composed this gem along with the Late Laxmikant....I am sure if it was ARR or RDB they would have spoken about the composer for half the show time..

Shankar Mahadevan must not have done improvisation. Thesa old classics are so perfect that even if you add or miss a half note anywhere, it is highly irritating and takes you away from the spirit of that song . Yes, it makes no difference to the compositions of present day composers say Shankar Mahadevan, Salim Merchant or A.R. Rehman, because their compositions are like carpentry and not the genuine creations.

@subhayu1986 Lata ji who I will go on a limb and say sings a lot better than you & was thoroughly enjoying the song. If Shankar's performance moves an arena full of singers (including Lata, Asha, etc), reputed music directors, and other emerging bollywood singers, who are you to criticize or degrade it? I'm disappointed that you trust those earlike things that you have at the side of head. I am disappointed that I replied to someone who obviously knows jack and understands even less about music
