  • Ta ta ta ta na gin na tere kete dha? What about the mahamantra?

I heard the mrdanga was embodiment of Nityananda , Gadhadara and Mahaprabhu.

Using the holy drum for a dance show is not appropriate. Why don't they use better djembe to show their musles.

  • @millwatts you realize this is 5min out of a much longer presentation that included a lot of bhajan and kirtan.

  • @tubeParamatma Thankyou for your blessings!!! May Their sweet Lordships Gaura Nitai, Krsna Balaram and Radha Shyamasundara bless you too. I am now in the best place possible serving Krsna's munificent cows so I pray for all the blessings I can get to stay in Vrindavan. All Glories to Srila Prabhupada and all the Vaisnava devotees of the Lord.

  • @Cowlover108 very nice response, haribol! i hope to have as much wisdom as you one day. God bless you

  • @tubeParamatma One has to have faith that gradually by following the instructions of Krsna in Bhagavad-Gita one will become free from all material entanglement. BG 18.48: "Every endeavor is covered by some fault, just as fire is covered by smoke. Therefore one should not give up the work born of his nature, O son of Kuntī, even if such work is full of fault." Again the nature of these devotees is to entertain which they do beautifully in the service of Lord Sri Krsna.

  • @Cowlover108 i agree that everything should be for the service of the Lord, and that means that it should be beautiful. what im wondering is, are they doing it for the service of Krsna or are they doing it because they like being on a stage? Arjuna sure wasn't thinking about how great he felt about being at the front of the army, he was thinking about his service - regardless of his position or looks.

i would probably get a better idea of their mood by watching it in person

    Hare Krsna

  • @tubeParamatma - Oh I find that sad - Everything to do with the Vedic culture is beautiful and everything is used in the service of the Lord. I am sure that when Arjuna stood on his chariot and blew his conch he looked magnificent with his well-defined muscles and gorgeous attire. These devotees are actually doing something to attract the youth of the world to Krsna Consciousness while utilising their God (Krsna) given abilities to entertain and create a joyful mood for everyone to enjoy.

  • @Cowlover108 it could be my narrow mindedness also...but it seems to me like these men enjoy being the center of attention, showing their muscles, and having people clap for them. maybe i have a very limited understanding of these musicians

    Hare Krishna

  • @millwatts I guess you get the "Debbie Downer" award for coming here and opening their mouth.

  • Someone might write a second mridanga mantra is something like "dhe re ti dhe re ti" but complete

  • @millwatts - oh a little narrow minded I would say - this dance is being done in the service of Krsna - why did Srila Prabhupada have shenai bands playing at the entrance to Sri Mayapur Dham when I was living there - they weren't chanting while they were playing!
