Large Fish Caught on Balboa Pier in Newport Beach (Part 2)

A very large fish was caught January 3, 2010 on the Balboa Pier in Newport Beach.

Beach goers believed the fish to be a black sea bass, although it was never confirmed.

these boaters are just as responsible!! they should seize their boat and revoke their privilledge to navigate southern california waters. and fine the captain $25,000. The Fisherman should be banned from fishing for life, and infact everyone on the pier should slap themselves in the face for not saying anything to this guy. Whos he think he is steve irwin? wtf

OCDA filed charges against the fisherman AND the boater.

I fish these waters all the time and am aware what is legal and what is not. It is the biggest part of resource management. Ignorance is no excuse. Helluva thing to teach those kids on the boat.
