  • Burn ye beacons, heroes of stand in their might

at the helm but night to all sides.

    Burn ye beacons

Out by blackened sands, out by blackened sands

The tumbling of the sea counts the names of dead men.

Burn ye beacons, heroes stand in their might

at the helm but night to all sides.

    Burn ye beacons

make lit for each countryman, make lit for each countryman,

who seeks home and yearns haven

  • Brennið þið vitar. Hetjur styrkar standa

Við stýrisvöl, en nótt til beggja handa

    Brennið þið vitar

Út við svarta sanda, út við svarta sanda

    Særótið þylur dauðra manna nöfn

Brennið þið vitar. Hetjur styrkar standa

Við stýrisvöl, en nótt til beggja handa

    Brennið þið vitar

Lýsið hverjum landa, lýsið hverjum landa

Sem leitar heim og þráir höfn

  • jonnierekkisvalur has a more accurate translation IMHO..

would be even more accurate like this: 'the tumbling of the sea RECITES the names of dead men'

  • well the lighthouses give off light and those are the beacons.

  • dakplat

beacons or lighthouses i don´t understand

  • Awesome. Love the drama of it.
