LOVED THIS!!! Sumi sounds amazing!!! I didn´t realise she could do those types of runs, even though I´ve seen a fair few of her videos. Anyway, coloraturafan, your account has been the reason for many happy a moment listening to some of the greatest stars in the Opera realm. Thank you x

Yes, occasionally pitchy in these live performances, but so beautiful in tone, so precise and agile. I saw her Olympia in LA in 2003 or thereabouts and it was one of the funniest operatic performances I've ever seen. Her Giulietta (one of the Kaye editions of Hoffmann) is simply amazing.

You really know how to please the Sumi Jo fans! I think Bel Raggio Lusinghier is my favourite, she sounds so perfect...and the Sonnambula looks like an absolute triumph, I would have loved to have been there!

The 2001 Zauberflote is from Palermo, I have the video. Not sure on the conductor off the top of my head.
