Alone (from the Alone album)

I've seen people at a certain age decide that they are tired of being alone and tired of dating...and they go out to find someone to be with and to marry. The race is on. At that point, it's not always about finding the "right person" or a "soulmate", it becomes about finding someone/anyone quickly so that they no longer have to be alone.

Sometimes we can feel very alone even though we're not...when we're in a bad relationship, for example. If you can stand yourself (and I truly hope you can), being alone can bring some very enlightening and fulfilling experiences. But alas, we are social creatures...and the road of solitude almost always eventually leads to new relationship. We hope the right person comes along when we are good and ready for our next relationship to begin...but that's not always the case.

This song is the title track off of the "Alone" album of 2009 and it deals with this struggle of wanting to wait for the right person and wanting to be with someone/anyone when the time is right.

I shot this video alone with a tripod on my way back from touring in Colorado in April of 2009. It features scenes from Colorado, Utah, Arizona, Nevada and California on the sides of the road.
