@GeoN0JRJ LOL - Funny you should mention that. The first time I worked on one of these, I put liquid electrical tape over the HV connections. Sure enough I made some mistakes and have to burn through it to make repairs!

George,
Very good vid, the best part being Mia, of course. You have a little cutie there. Wifey and I have all grandsons, not a girl in the bunch. Oh well, there's always the great grandkids...if they ever get here.
Take care my friend.
Regards,
John

Looking good so far :) That thing you thought might be a doorknob cap is actually a transformer.
P.S. It's a good idea to avoid any sharp point in high voltage wiring otherwise you can get arcs, corona and ozone. So you might want to put a blob of solder where you spliced in the new HV caps.

@bandersentv Thanks for the heads up on the HV Bob! I will check those connections and put a glob here and there. I had thought about putting corona dope on those connections but that sure would be a hasstle to get off if I ever had to change out a component.

@Hogkat Hello my friend! Don't you know we eat asbestos here in Texas! It's great on crackers with a little hot sauce! Actually, there is only a small 8"x8" patch of the stuff up there in the top of the cabinet. I try not to disturb it. Dangerous stuff. Thanks for taking the time to watch and leave feedback!
