People are discussing that the venue wasn't too okay (quite crowded, very hot, mediocre sound system), that Aphex's set was good but not awesome and that the videos that were shown at the end of his set were disgusting.

Ik heb Aphex nu 2x live gezien. (Vorige keer was in '02 op Pukkelpop in België.) Deze keer was wat beter dan toen, maar toch. Echt briljant (zoals op sommige cd's) vind ik hem live niet :(. Zijn set op STRP was heel lineair/voorspelbaar in opbouw. Van héél soft naar héél hard. Nergens spannende passages waarbij gespeeld werd met het contrast tussen hard & zacht. Nergens muzikaal beangstigend ("Come to Daddy"). Nergens speels ("Flim") Voor mijn gevoel was 't het allemaal nét niet. Jammer!

Het einde was niet zo aan mij besteed (mijn tere zieltje trok het niet). Ik hem me maar omgedraaid, want ik kon er persoonlijk niet tegen.

Anyways, verder een prima optreden. Het begin was wat traag, en het was behoorlijk druk en warm in de zaal. Maar ik heb me vermaakt :). Moet wel bekennen dat Squarepusher mij uiteindelijk meer deed dan AFX.
