i got the same truck. my uncle customized it an painted and did every thing to it intil the day he dye. when i can get my permit its all mine =) we started it up this year for the first time in 6 years and i swear it sounded like a sport car

The 390 engine is a beast, bullet proof, and reliable. Minor mods and a patient search for parts,cause their hard to find, and you could be smoking a set of tires per hour. I'd back it with a C-6 if you don't already have one. Their not as bad on gas as you might think, about the same as a SRT8 only you can haul the entire neighborhoods furniture with it. A real torque monster with a fireball cam

My dad had both an '77 F100 Ranger (with a 302) and an '76 F250 Ranger Highboy (with a rebuilt 390 FE)
Those are one of the coolest classic trucks in truck history.

indeed they are, how was that 390? i was thinking about swapping out for one but with gas prices and my long commute its not to practical.
