@GutsandGlory45 Me being an elitist doesn't matter. Metalcore is not Metal. Period. It lacks most things that make music metal, and has more things in common with hardcore punk. I say it's neither, you say it's both. Do me a favour, go to any gig of an actual metal band (like some straight up folk/bm/dm) and ask random people who aren't wearing metalcore shirts if metalcore is actual metal. Then avoid getting mocked.

@terorizr Most retarded comment ever. Metalcore is not even metal. It's hardcore that tries to sound like Metal. Besides, metalcore isn't the foundation of Metal. The foundation of metal is in hard rock and proto-metal (Deep Purple, Rush, Black Sabbath, etc.).

NO WAY IN HELL @RFAeon metal clore is the foundation of all metal music mad 2 b in your face heavy and came from the hardcore style of music. Screamo, as good as it is is a style that origanted from more emo type music that now could b emo, dark, or even mixed with tecno but OF CORSE metalcore and screamo r sometimes mixed.
