The mountains, monasteries and wildlife of Ladakh. This extract from a one hour film features the beginning of my journey in February 2010 in search of a snow leopard. It covers Leh, a journey to the monastery at Lamayuru and the entrance to Hemis high altitude national park at Zingchen.
Hi, Great video (as, indeed, all of your videos are of very high quality... the camera you use is excellent... I especially also liked the Spitsbergen walruses and the Antarctica minke whales)... may I inquire as to whether you actually saw the snow leopard?... I am very interested in going to this area... is it safe (I understand Kashmir can be dangerous with military activity)? Thanks for your help. Thanks also for posting this great video footage.
@Juscz I am glad you liked the videos. Yes I did see the snow leopard. On my first night in camp we saw two snow leopards and on my last night in Rumbak we saw another one. Both were very distant sightings, but it was incredible to see them. Hemis High Altitude national park in Ladakh is a safe place to visit.
