No, the 4870 is faster than the GTX260 its close to the GTX275 and 280. The GTX295 is a bit less powerfull tha 2x GTX260 in SLI, but we can say its about the same...
Also the 8800Gt for example has higher clocks, shaders and more vRAM than the GTX285... does it make it better???
I dont think so... you cant compare cards in that way....
More Stream Progressors, higher vram Bandwidth and Texture fillrate is what make a card better....

rubbish, the gtx 295 has 1792 memory and on ur computer it says u have only 875

i got 8 gigs of ram
gtx 260 1.8gb special edition
intel core i7 860
and i run it on max with 32 fps

i got 4gb ram ddr3, a 2,2ghz dual core, and ati radeon 4650 with 2gb vram ddr3.. and i get about 15-30fps..

GTX 295 has got a Memory Size of 1792MB, but, why your GTA only recognize 875MB?...

because when sli is used itn wil only ever use the memory from the gpu thats being used, basicaly each gpu renders a frame alternatly and each gpu has its own memory, rather than both gpus and memory combining to render a single frame.
Duel gpus basically lie when they say they have thatmuch memory as they never in any situaton will use al that memory, as a combined amount.

the 1792 is divided in 2 so ther is 876 mb of memory for each core and every core renders the same thing so eventualy the memory is also used for the same thing

The cores dont render the same thing they render a frame each alternatly so each gpu has to use its own memory iths never combined together to render the same frame. Even if you use the old split frame rendering method each gpu render half the frame each. Using its own memory for its part in the task.
