is this vending machine like where you can tie a string around a dime and put it in the slot and take it out for a free soda. because in the 1950's you could do that. now a days when you put your quarter in it locks the slot so you cant get your quarter back.

Thanx for posting this. I was a wee boy when this ditty was around and had forgotten it and the singers. A better time my friend, a better time, and better also than the commercials and ditties which followed much later, though some are good. I am among the legion of coca cola collectors around the world for this quintisentially American icon.

Keep in mind our pocket change at one time contained silver. That same silver dime today is worth $1.36. About the cost of 12 oz of Coke today in a modern machine.
