He did a commercial in, like, the late 90s, still giving out the number the same way. I think I left a msg saying he needed to get with the times and say 898-7100 at least.

Back when Belvedere Construction was located on Livernois and 8 Mile, a family friend was a teller at Detroit Bank & Trust. She said that Belvedere(His real name was Maurice Zell) used to come in every single day screaming about his money. Needless to say, the tellers lived in fear of having to service him.
This family friend was telling my parents about this over dinner and I got in trouble when I chirped,"Just tell the guy to go F#ck himself.
I was only 9 but had overheard my dad say that.
