This is a video collage I made as a tribute to the relationship/friendship between Severus and Lily. Snape spends this life remembering his friend and what could have been. His memories of her remain 'just a dream' and his wish that they had remained friends, or had become more, also is "just a dream."
Failing to protect her from Voldemort, he gives her the next best thing. He gives her son protection and dedicates his life to protecting Harry, despite the fact that Harry is a spitting image of James, Snape's rival.
At the end, when Snape is dying, he finally opens up to Harry. As he dies he falls into his dream/heaven and is greeted by Lily, who offers him forgiveness.
