I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought this was the best ever. I think I can say this one and halloween havoc 89/90 was my favorite ppv of all time. This probably is number 1. No one did ppv like wcw back in the day!

figures they'd use the real countdown ending of on a service where they butcher footage, even footage that they don't have to worry about editing.
-
Thank You so much for correcting WWE's pathetic editing of this classic show.
-
Ah I remember the countdowns to the ppvs. They always made the PPVs seem like they just HAD to have been watched!
-
@Slacker4LiFe247 Man, that's awesome! The Flair vs Sting match is one of my favourites, I can't imagine what it would've been like to be there live!

@TrueTalkTV I don't foresee Raw, Smackdown, or WWE in general going anywhere for a long time. Keep in mind that Vince has tried for years to find something besides wrestling and he has failed every time (he promoted bodybuilding, boxing, and football.) Essentially, barring a miracle, this network won't take off and he'll be back to square one. Even if it does take off, Vince will either give WWE to Stephanie or he will sell it someone else. WWE won't be going anyway anytime in the near future.
-
@CombatSportFan So does that mean, no more RAW or Smackdown? No more Wrestlemania, etc? I mean, how far is he GOING with this "I want us to be legit entertainment" attitude?
I wish he'd sell ME the damn WWE library. (Not that I have the money to BUY it, but you get my point lol)
-
@TrueTalkTV ...for WWE TV to take off as a general entertainment network that would make him a ton of money as a producer. Meltzer has straight up said that Vince McMahon would feel like he was a failure in life if he dies and "all" he has to show for his life was being a wrestling promoter (that's one reason he pushes "sports entertainment" as the name of the product now rather than pro wrestling.)
-
@TrueTalkTV Two reasons I can think of. 1) WWE is having significant trouble with the content of a lot of their library. Keep in mind WWE wants no vulgarity, "graphic" violence (see blood), or sexual content on their programs. Kinda hard to do with WWE 24/7. 2) Vince hates wrestling. This is all but fact. Meltzer has said many times that if Vince ever hits big in movies, football, bodybuilding, etc he will sell WWE and jump ship. He doesn't want to be associated with wrestling and would love...
-
@CombatSportFan But if this network is gonna be TOTALLY DIFFERENT than WWE 24/7, why get rid of the original?
-
@TrueTalkTV I haven't heard much talk about it in a while, but the last I heard WWE was going to get rid of 24/7 and begin a new "general entertainment" network with the WWE brand on it.
Don't look for much in the way of old school wrestling, or even wrestling period on it, as the last I heard they were legitimately looking at writing scripts for the wrestlers to have their on starring vehicles. One of them, and I hope they were making this up, was to be a Santino Marella sit-com.
Not just because I seen this live in Baltimore but this is like one of my top 3 NWA/WCW PPV events ever. Top notch card

What was it like to see it live and be there? I can't imagine, if I had a time machine...
