this is how debates are supposed to be. I can't stand watching the news nowadays, like Fox, CNN etc. Its all arguing and shouting, and INTERRUPTING. No respect these days, no respect

Katrina is wrong to agree that the reason we are in Afghanistan is because of a "War on Terror." The so-called war on terror is fake, phony, bogus, and just a con game on the public. There is no such thing as a war on terror, it is just an illusion created to mass market the military spending and construction contracts like Blackwater and Halliburton. BTW, what is Kolb doing at Center for American Progress? He doesn't even sound like a liberal much less a progressive.

Katina wins, but she didn't mention the single most important reason for not excalating toop levels:. There is no enemy of the USA that we are fighting in Afghanistan. The Taliban has never been the enemy. We are occupying in a civil war and that will only MAKE enemies for us.

Korb did not comment on the no exit strategy. Annoying when you have a debate like this that you can't do this issue by issue. If Vanden Heuval says 3 things in a section, Korb can respond to only one of them. A plan for this is a crucial factor. Hello??

doesn't vanden heuvel look and sound like the ex-wife from 'Frasier'? lol (I think they're both attractive btw. don't want to hurt any feelings lol)
anyhow, good debate.

PULLOUT. PULLOUT. PULLOUT. Everyone from Alexander the Great to the USSR have tried to do exactly what we are doing and failed miserably. Rather we should hang in the US as the Taliban loses popularity due to the relative dislike of strict Islamic law, bad economy, and the end of the oil. Then using, the CIA, we finance pro-US rebels. Worked against the Ruskies, why not again? By not fucking in country we will undercut the main reason why terrorists have support. Fear. Send them bread not bombs.

NATO shouldn't abandon Afghanistan. If they do then the Taliban will take back control as the government there is far too unstable. And once the Taliban take back control they will let Al Qaeda use the country as a base for launching terror attacks on the USA and Europe
Withdrawing troops is only part of the solution. When our country pulls its military forces, we must simultaneously bring in economic aid and regional diplomacy to help stabilize Afghanistan and help Afghans rebuild.
