1) Are you referring to the search tab? If "disable filesharing" is checked this is correct. You can still use "search messages" icon to search through threads. Please see 5m04s
2) "I cant download anything on frost or upload, I run on windows."
Open the Freenet web interface, enable Advanced mode (bottom menu), go to Configuration (top menu) and look at FCP. Set both download/upload DDA to TRUE and apply changes. May require node restart.
