APRIL 2010 VOJ REG BOARD MEETING 101_0063.MOV

My thoughts after the meeting:
During a regular Village board meeting held on April 26th 2010 Justice Mayor Wasowicz read what appeared to be a censure from the rest of the Village Board to Trustee Mike Murray. They allege he may have violated the public trust regarding a minor ticket for a resident in the village. The matter is to soon go before the Ethics committee. Trustee Murray asserted to the board and the audience that he is not stepping down from his elected position. Murray also conveyed to all in the meeting that he did nothing illegal.

During public comments the Justice Village board was asked why they are assuming that Trustee Mike Murray is guilty before he goes to trial at the Ethics hearing. James Rinkus of Gardenlanepress pointed out that Trustee Kinga Bartoszek still approves, reviews, and votes the posted payables paying Village money for her soon to be husband's family business which is Technicraft located in Justice. Technicraft currently has the contract for the Justice police towing in the village. Technicraft is also named in a law suit with American Family Mutual Insurance Co. (http://abrn.search-autoparts.com/abrn/article/articleDetail.jsp?id=625677 accessed 4,27,2010) Rinkus conveyed to the board that If they are going to illuminate a possible mistake from Trustee Murray maybe you should take a good look at what you do in the village that may be seen as unethical.




Rinkus also asked if the Delgado law group charged the village taxpayers for the "cease and desist" letter written to the Village Voice Party. Unfortunately an answer was not provided.




With all of the commotion over the Village Voices First Amendment right to free speech being oppressed you would have thought there would have been many more comments and questions yet the audience was relatively quiet. Us west side Justinians on Gardnelanepress feel that this may be the calm before a storm.

John Small President of the Village Voice Committee persistently pressed Village Trustees Phil Dipaola, Kinga Bartoszek, George Pastorino, and Mary McGee as to "why Trustee Mike Murray was stripped of his Committee yet he still gets paid 600.00 a month." Trustee Bartoszek, Dipaola, and Pastorino both chose not to comment on the question. View the videos to watch their responses. Trustee Mike Murray actually wants to chair a committee yet the Village Mayor claimed it was the "will of the board" to take his committee away.
