This is part two of the introduction cut-scene from a fan-game I'm working on entitled "Star Wars: Flight of Memories". It's a free game, a side-scrolling shooter, with both space and ground levels (spaceship combat and on-foot combat).

I'm also still working on the Gundam FPS game from before, but this game I was using for a college class project so I needed to focus my efforts on this to turn it into class. After class, however, I still plan to continue development of this game too.

The 3D models are from... http://www.scifi3d.com/list.asp?intGenreID=10&intCatID=4

Sound effects are from various sources around the 'net...

The characters were made in The Sims 2 (flightsuits were created by me)...

  • Uh-oh... Looks like I might have uploaded the wrong version of this second part. At position 3:53, does anyone hear the Rebel pilot say anything, or is it just a glitch on my end? I could've sworn it was working, but maybe not. I know in an old version I accidentally deleted his line from the video, and than I fixed it when I noticed it. Maybe I uploaded the one that wasn't fixed...

  • Very well done, Blue.^^ It was fun to watch.

But I would just say some of the voices were a tad too quiet, as the music and the sound effects overpowered them a lot. Also, I don't know if it's possible, cause I know Sims are difficult to work with XD, but some expressions of the characters could be tweaked. Some of them, especially during the fight scene, looked too... "happy." But again, it's just a minor thing, and Sims are a handful.

It's looking good. Can't wait for the finished product!

  • Unfortunately it's not really possible to change the expressions in The Sims 2... I wish it was, but the animation is connected with the expressions so when a Sim talks the expression changes according to the animation set for it. And unfortunately there's no "angry talk" loop.

Maybe the pilots are just that cocky, or maybe they're really enjoying the battle... XD

  • The animation and 3D modeling were amazing! I loved all of the voices as well, though I'm not really happy with my performance as Palpatine. I think I sounded too young and not very believable. But regardless, this production looks amazing and I can't wait to see the finished product!

  • I think you did just fine with Palpatine. :)

  • Thanks :D But I'll still try to improve in future scenes.

  • Hehe, alright. :P

By the way... The first release of the game is now being uploaded. I'll send y'all an E-mail with the information on it, and post a thread on the VAA too.

For everyone not on the VAA, the download is available on the Blue Banshees Productions website.
