Independent living for our special needs sons and daughters can be a reality! It may be hard to imagine when they're small, but maturity brings changes... many of them good! And their desire to live an independent life can emerge. It has with our son, Nolan. And we've found a most rewarding opportunity for his dream.
Meet Chris. Chris is the owner/operator of the group home where Nolan now lives. There was a process to find this home, and there are hurdles to jump. But the best news is, our special kids have opportunities to live independent lives. There are good people out there who care... and make that compassion their livelihood.
I'm quite certain, after watching this interview, that you will understand why I am so optimistic in expecting positive group home experiences for many of our special kids.
Thank you, Chris.
The key here is finding someone like Chris! It is not a 'group home' with revolving staff, it is one caring person. That is a huge difference.

I used to live in a group home, and it was miserable for me. This sounds like the kind of person running one, that I would want to be in, if that ever happened again. :)

Refreshing,
That the "Ghost of human kindness" is not dead yet! Good to see the guys too showing their caring side, showing they are emotional and their quality of kindness.
