G20 Toronto 2010. Screaming girl "Violently Arrested" by police.

Spadina and Richmond. Saturday June 26th. Protester arrested by massively overpowering riot cop. Why he had to bend her over the fence is unknown.




Since so many people fixated on the previous title, ignoring the larger issue, I changed it.

There's at least one Toronto journalist interested in linking to your video - but the word 'molested' is stopping her, because while the cop is obviously hurting & frightening the young woman, it's not clear that she's being sexually molested. If you re-titled the clip with another word ('attacked', 'overpowered', 'terrified & hurt'?), you might find it is distributed farther, serving your aim.

@SteeltownAllie I was not refering to the sexual definition of molest, but i suppose it is the more accepted defintion. I will change it. Thank you.

It's quite common for people to yell that at cops, even when they brought it on themselves. Often activists will seek to cause a scene. I think this woman was creating a fuss and acting like she was being forcibly bent over the fence and acting like it was against her will. In any case, I don't think it's molestation at all. Cops will put someone up against a car, over a car or whatever is handy in order to cuff and frisk them. In this case it was a fence and it ended up being a bit awkward.

@ThomasMeatball yes you are right, she bent herself over the fence just so she could scream and make a scene. <-sarcasm. By the way, noone could even see what was happening to her because the police like to hide what they are doing to people, which is why I had to film between their legs.

It's hard to tell whether the cop is forcibly bending her over the fence, or whether she is deliberately leaning over the fence in order to be difficult and screaming hysterically for effect.

Yes shes screaming = dumb kid didn't listen to the cops and was arrested. She got what she wanted it looks like. Is it the new fad amongst the kiddies to F with the cops like they have the right??? Is this the "revolution" thats been sooooo tweeted about? Grow up kids...

that woman was just screaming to get attention. She probably was embarrassed at letting herself get arrested.

@zeburne123 . It became confusing and crowded. I felt disoriented and claustrophobic and was separated from my friends. People stopped moving as rows of riot police blocked the front of the march.

I stepped up onto the sidewalk to breathe, attempted to locate my friends in the crowd and to get a look at the police activity. I was standing beside several reporters and cameras.
