This is my first test of my homemade Depth of Field adaptor around Central Wellington, NZ. It is done on my little Sony HDR-CX100, with a Canon EF 50mm f1.8 on the end, not my ideal setup, but just a quick test, and nice and lite to take around town. Unfortunately I have only been able to find a Minolta Type L Focus Screen, which has grid lines, but im going to order either a Nikon or Canon one soon. Im also having a few issues with the rotatable CPL filter moving around, so am constructing a way to hold that in place. But all in all went pretty good, will post more videos on progress later on.

  • Wait? What's with the lines?

Can you get rid of that?

  • As described in the info the grid lines are caused by the focus screen that I used. I now how a Canon EG-A focus screen without grid lines

  • You will definitely need a DOF adaptor to achieve this sort of thing, i found it a great little camera for testing this sort of stuff, but needed something with a better mic and mic inputs! My DOF adaptor cost me around $300 NZD to build, which would work out to around $150 USD. Start by going to Daniels GG-Holder website, sorry don't have the URL handy, but try google it and should come up. If you don't want to build your own I think that website sells them for about $500 USD

  • Was filmed with HDRCX100, new videos filmed with my updated adaptor and HV20 coming soon
