I go when I go to the Southeast Severe Storms Symposium at Mississippi State. It's about 30 miles from Starkville and about half an hour away. I am from Hoover, Alabama and James Spann, a very well-known tv meteorologist here locally, LOVES to go there and eat on the night of the first day of the symposium.

I just ate there with my two sons the other day. We are from Texas and were visiting family. It was awesome. My boys loved it. Great food and friendly people!

Man....when mmy son was at MSU we'd pile all his buds in our van and take off to
Pap's Place! We talk about it to this day. One of the guys (Bretsky), would always wear his sweat pants and lay in the back of one of the guys truck all the way back to MSU after eating the whole tray of Banana Pudding!! ....He'd never eaten banana puddin' until Pap's Place!......Good Times!!!! Best Food EVER!!!!!

They used to have one commercial (circa 1999) where she exclaimed to have "....the best dog gone catfish and ribs in the South!" whilst, in the background, a guy in a pig suit with a fishing rod reeled in a guy wearing a catfish suit and another man with a balled up paper towel in hand casually chewed on a rib. The commercial was so epic that I still remember it in exact detail some 10 years later.

I don't have the T-shirt but I've been to Pap's Place in Ackerman MS and not too many people from Woodburn OR can say that. I love Charles and Chery Sally dearly they are like family. Another of Chery's famous quotes is " If I'm gonna cook it somebody's gonna eat it." I had many a fine meal there.

I was SO glad to find this commercial...but she didn't say her famous line "We don't rob you, we just fill up yo belly!"
