Bands have a harder time getting people to dance. They also need to take breaks. Bands need to rehearse and if they don't you can tell. Bands can't play this weeks new songs because it takes time to learn. A hot band will blow a lousy DJ away. Also a band will do a better job as host. A band is better to watch since they often dance. If you have a long reception hire both!

NO WAY..DJ's could never be compared to a live band..DJ's do not have the experience and musical knowledge of a band not the vibe. Bands do cost more but you get what you pay for..never go with a dj.

That's a pretty tightwad perspective. DJ's are restricted to whats on the disc. Bands are more versatile and a good one will rock the party.
