Glad to hear this song, my Dad sang it often when I was young. Never hear the 2nd verse tho, which goes like this "One mornin' 'bout 4 o'clock, somebody tried to pick a lock. I knew 'twas my father sure as sin. so I opened the door and let him in. What time is it my Ma asked Pa, it's 12 o'clock my Pa told Ma. Just then the cuckoo cuckooed 4 and Pa made me cuckoo 8 times more. Oh they always, always pick---------(rest of chorus) R N

My mother, who was born and raised in Cleveland County, Arkansas in 1916 used to sing this song fo me. I've never been able to find it until now. Thanks. If anyone knows anything about its source, please share.
