The biggest difference I see in this year's Illinois team is by far the coaching. Weber is a good coach, but for some reason could not get maximum effort out of his players. Groce has changed all that. I notice a major improvement on the defensive end as well. Makes you wonder how good Illinois would have truly been this year if Meyers Leonard didn't leave for the NBA early...

I think this is the happiest I've seen an Illini team since I've been here for my 4 years... Normally I would just be like they'll break my heart again but this year just something is different, it starts with watching the same players all of the sudden play a lot better, talent was always there, thanks coach groace.

The virus is gone alright....but it wasn't Meyers, it was Coach Dreamkiller. He's still wishing he could kill the dreams of Robbie Hummel and Draymond Green.

The great attitudes and the enhanced motivation in our players is the product of John Groce in the head coaching position, in no way did Meyers have a bad attitude. He played with a lot of heart and was always looking to improve and that's why he is where he is now

I get Matt's point, but everybody coming back has improved this year expecially Brandon. Leonard would have done the same. Meyers in the low post would have deepened the bench and given them more fouls to spread around. Nothing like winning to improve team chemistry. Keep fighting Illini!

Leonards motivation to improve was unlike anything I've ever seen. How was his attitude bad? You couldn't find someone with more passion and drive for the game then him. The final straw for him was them firing webber. Now he's rocking it as a blazer.
