@ZachManZ71 Yes, when I shake it extensively, but my ears have to be right next to the camera to hear it. That being said, this is an 'issue' that only Apple can fix (they won't) and it happens on every 4S (haven't checked on other iDevices)

@ZachManZ71 That noise you hear is not the gyroscope, Whatever the other guy said is IRRELEVANT to the issue you have. That noise is a magnet that controls the auto focus in the camera. You should hear it if you drop the device or shake it extensively (which frankly, you shouldn't do), Regarding the gyroscope, that doesn't make a sound, and the way it's built in to the iPhone, if it made a sound you wouldn't hear it with a normal ear.

@ZachManZ71 A gyro is a contraption that always balances itself to the gravity. This makes your phones screen rotate when you rotate the phone. It needs to be able to rotate inside freely therefore making the noise :)
