  • This makes me miss my IBM PS/1. Sierra's Quest-games with the SCSI-engine were played a lot on it.

The volume control for the beeper was very handy. Later computers miss that.

  • you had a volume control on your beeper? omg - you lucky devil - mine was really loud in those days

  • Isnt it crazy that a lot of people would use the pc internal beeper for their sound on the older pc's - sound cards were expensive in the day - i think thats something worth noting !

  • apologies for picture quality - couldnt be helped sorry

  • What are u 10? If it was not for these "old" pc's. You would not have the games you have now.

  • you should get crysis running on that thing

  • lol I'm probably the only one here who's younger than 16. I recently looked through my old games and noticed that the minimum requirement for one of those was an IBM 386, so what do I do? Google the name of course.

  • WOW Thats my first computer! :D

    (After Sinclair Spectrum Timex)

  • Thanks for showing Chip's Challenge; I have it on my Atari Lynx, and someone gave me the Windows Entertainment Pack which had it on. It was inferior, as you say, but I hadn't seen the DOS version running before. I shall look into it to run in DOSBox under Linux. Is the IBM a PC you've had since 'back in the day'? By the way, can you lock the focus on your camcorder? ;)

  • I like the way Dizzy 3 has spectum style music, I didn't hear the music when I ran it on my old win 98 pc, although the game itelf ran perfectly, but when I played it in Dosbox and heard it for the very first time i was like WTF!

  • What I don't get is why people of the modern era mock computers they never even saw. I'm 14 and sadly the only one at my school that even knows what a 386 is. And when I tell others about it they always call them worthless, crap, horrible, or any combination of those three. If only they would actually take the time to see these computers they would understand. But in the modern era people only care about hi definition graphics even though the story lines for 9/10'ths of the games out there suck.

  • woaaa! this games were so genius! I'd love to go back in time and play that old trashy stuff again...

  • wow! this is great! when i was maybe 6 or so i played leisure suit larry on something like this! I have have some photographs of it lol :D

  • Heh heh. I used to play Doom with only the PC speaker as sound effects on my machine. Doesn't that suck... :(

  • Blood was great.

I have fond memories of dual wielding pistols and kicking heads around.

    Good times.
