Here is 540 gallons of water in volume, tank and sump combined. For more details read more.

Dimensions of tanks are Length x width x height

Tank is a 450 gallon 96"x36"x30"

Sump is a 95 gallon sump 48"x25.5"x18"

Filtration system is running dual overflow boxes draining into a DIY wet/dry sump. Draining to the 1st chamber into two 8" x 16" 200 micron filter socks then through a bubble trap then over a drip plate trickling over 20 gallons of bio balls in the middle chamber, then through another bubble trap to the last chamber then returning though a Reeflo Dart external pump pumping roughly 2800 gph@ 6' head. I'm also running a Fluval FX5 filled with biomax in the bottom tray then mechanical media filter pads in the other 2 trays. The FX5 will also be connected to a UV sterilizer in the near future. Ordered one and just waiting for it to arrive. For circulation I'm running 2 x Magnum Powerheads running 6000gph. Combined with my filtration gph there is roughly 9400gph circulating in this tank which is about 21 times per hour of circulation. Which gives plenty of oxygen for the fish and high currents for the Tigrinus catfish. Heating this tank is running 3 x 300 watt submersible heaters.

New stock list for this set up is:

22" Bluebase Crossback Golden Asian Arowana
23" Tigrinus Catfish
17" Ornate Bichir
14" Weeksi Bichir
13" Endlicheri Bichir
10" Flagtail Prochilodus
2 x 9" Heros Severus
3 x 5-6" Indonesian Datnoids
5 x 6" Clown Loaches

Every fish here was measured total length from tip of mouth to tip of tail.

I also have a 86 gallon 48"x18"x23" setup inside my house with Geophagus cichlids and severums. Will post a vid of it later.

Anyways hopefully everyone enjoyed the vid and have a great summer everyone. Peace out.

  • @strawwoodclaw This is a old video. Check out my updated videos. In this video his barbels were damaged from moving him into this tank. Currently today they fully grew back already.

  • @kappa2414 Why would they need to be taken out??? Even when I do a 70 percent water change I don't take out the fish. If I end up selling a big monster then I use a pond net.

  • hey where did you get them nice big pieces of drift wood at?

  • @1989calvindo

Bought it at a fish store.

  • just watched your other video with the 3 FX5s, but seriously which setup did you like the most dealing with maintenance?

  • @Cutthroat415SF
