'The Beatles Recording' is a massive tome of a book out of print and $100 and TECHNICAL:microphones used, their placement, compressors at EMI etc.etc.etc.: including the story of how they came to eventually record Paul's bass. First, the EMI room was made to record symphonies and huge. Paul OVERDUBBED his bass parts a lot in this 65-68(?) ''middle'' Beatle period AND they shoved a huge studio monitor/speaker up against Paul's bass amp and reversed it from a speaker into a recording microphone!

When the drums come in..that's proper 'heavy' rock!

i love the bass in this song!

I like take 2 better than the released version, its a bit more heavy and raw.

@TackyRackyComixNEO Second; although some of there earlyer ones were on a single take- sometimes due to lack of time in the studio i think

Awesome first take!

Yes. This are two takes.
You should put ''The Beatles - Paperback Writer (Takes 1 & 2)''.
Uh, you're making a mistake Adam.
The instrumental until the break it's Take 1.
After that it's Take 2.
And this is the master, this was the take used, but there's no overdubs, it's the clean version and without deleting the intro of the instruments and bass at the beginning, and the sound at the end is an error in the tape.
I'm really in a battle to remaster it, the sound is not the apropiate still.
Oh, The producer says ''2'' after the breakdown.
