Most of that rock is quartz, you can see a white quartz boulder or two someone else pulled out off to the side. Probably another prospector was looking at this place as well due to all the black sands and quartz. Found my best small piece of gold of the day in that spot. There's a saprolite schist bedrock just underneath that clay which was probably solid at one point in time, and why the gold was still there.

  • Nice video! So do you think the gold was on that schist bedrock, or mixed in the clay? I'm thinking if it was in the clay it came down at a more recent time.
