Georgetown had a week off to enjoy its top 10 ranking, but after falling at Pittsburgh 72-60 on Saturday it's safe to say that the party's over, particularly with Connecticut and South Florida awaiting this week.
The Hoyas came up with their worst effort of the season against a Panthers squad that may be in the bottom quadrant of the Big East standings but still has talent that caused it to be ranked in the preseason polls. Georgetown got blasted on the boards, was dominated in the paint, and saw its defense vanish in critical stretches.
Though the Huskies fell to Notre Dame 50-48 on Sunday, there was some good news for the Connecticut program. Ryan Boatright suited up and was able to play.
Boatright, the freshman guard who's the first and only backcourt reserve, returned after a three-game absence while the NCAA questioned his eligibility. This all came after a six-game benching to start the season for similar concerns, so it's safe to say that the Boatright family has had just about enough of the NCAA enforcers. Boatright's mother is reportedly considering filing suit against the organization.
