He went over it a few times before we recorded.
We had to scrap one song completely because he kept tripping over the words.

No, he found the song. But you can add more limericks when you sing it, so it can be as long (or as dirty) as you want. :-D

He's been singing it for years. And he has lots of limerick books to help him add verses when he wants to. :-)
