Matt Carter: Internship with Del Mar Thoroughbred Club

Matt Carter's internship was with the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club, Del Mar, California. Matt has a chemistry degree and entered RTIP after working in lab. Matt came to RTIP because he knew the internship program would get him the experience he needed to work in the industry. As an intern at Del Mar, he worked with the marketing department, the stewards, the simulcasting director and the racing office. Matt says that the internship gave him the opportunity to put what he learned in the classroom to use and assured him that the race track industry was where he wanted to work.
