Although I liked Rage, I thought the story was rather shallow and the ending was terribly weak. What I am really excited for is Doom 4. Doom 3 was exceeded all of my expectations on its release, I hope to see them wow me again.

@krasav4ik82 Carmack spent most of his keynote talking about shortening development time. He now has a team that are experts on id Tech 5, they know what works and what doesn't.
I wouldn't write id Software off just yet. They're not in business to impress you with graphical leaps. They're in the business of making games that a maximum number of gamers will reap an epic experience from.
You should stick to Crysis or whatever gets your dick hard. But if you plan to avoid id titles. S'your loss. =)
