Richard Gwilt is well established as one of Europe's better-known baroque violinists. Since 1986 he is professor of baroque violin and viola at Trinity College of Music in London. He has arranged Bach's trio sonatas BWV525-530, that survive in manuscript form for organ, into a straightforward "classic combination" of two violins and continuo, performed on period violin instruments.
London Baroque, formed in 1978, is regarded worldwide as one of the foremost exponents of baroque chamber music.
I do not consider myself an expert on Bach, but would i be right in saying that this is one of his lighter works?- Scattered cannons and little else in the way of developent?
