Virgin Blue 31JAN10 Melbourne Brisbane Take off flaps spoilers wing view Boeing737

DJ341 Take off from Melbourne (Tullamarine) 31JAN10 to Brisbane.

Slight delay because they had to fix a seat but once on board there were further delays due to lightning. We got to the end of the taxi way and had to hold because of a storm cell then when that had gone the airport changed all the runways so had to taxi to another. Suffice to say my battery was starting to run down with the amount of filming i took just in case.

Never flown Virgin before, flight was good but on Qantas you don't have to pay for anything. We didn't even get offered free water for the 1 hour 20 mins delay in total sitting on the tarmac on top of the 2 hour flight.

Just after take off there is a neat shot of some air vortices over the wing from the engine. We were told it would be a bit turbulent and a faster take off for increase air speed... i think the captain said. Good flight aside from delay.

Dude last time I did Melb to Bris we got stuck on the plane cause some dude had to be escorted off. Three hours on the plane :(. And I'm 6 foot 3. Not fun.

It was kinda worth it, got free foxtel for the flight (Virign Blue or w/e they call themselves now)
