For twenty-five years, Alex Jones was the senior minister of two churches in the city of Detroit: Zion Congregational Church of God in Christ -- the second oldest Pentecostal church in Michigan -- and Maranatha Christian Church, an Evangelical/Charismatic church. In March 1998, while reading the apostolic fathers and subsequent church history in preparation for a Wednesday evening bible study, Alex Jones discovered the Catholic Church to be charismatic/liturgical, hierarchical, and Eucharistic-centered. In light of that revelation, Alex and his wife Donna began a two year journey into the Catholic Church that culminated in fifty-four members of his previous congregation, including fourteen members of his own family, entering the Catholic Church. The group began R.C.I.A. at St. Suzanne Catholic Community on September 10, 2000 and were welcomed into the Catholic Church through confirmation during Easter Vigil on April 14, 2001. Alex Jones was subsequently ordained a Permanent Deacon in the Archdiocese of Detroit on October 1, 2005. Deacon Jones received his Masters in Pastoral Studies from Sacred Heart Major Seminary on April 28, 2007 and retired from the position of evangelization coordinator for the Archdiocese of Detroit on May 31, 2007. Deacon Jones currently serves the three parishes of St. Suzanne/OLGH, St. Mary of Redford, and St. Thomas Aquinas. He and his wife Donna have three sons and ten grandchildren.

@axe41 but didn't the pharasees say exactly what you say about catholicism, about the simaritans? You are so hardline at being right you would even correct Jesus Himself came to you. You would even reject Him. God is living He speaks to the Soul not through paper. You use the very words to destroy. what Jesus had set out in the book of John and revelations. "To know scriptures is to know God, to know God is to be catholic. " I totally agree. Many times I hear the hurtful words from other Christians and i asked God how do i know what is right. He made me understand that we all belong to Him, that some reject how he wishes us to worship Him. How people think they know better and curse in His name. To say that what he said in John is False, and James. About Salvation by works. Only knows half.

To know Scripture is to know God, To know God is to be Catholic. I invite everyone to come home to the church. Don't believe listen to what the media tells you. Get the Catechism of the church and read our beliefs for yourselves, listen to Scott Hahn, Marcus Grodi and Alex Jones and when I say listen... really listen.

The church has a lot to answer for yes, but not because of her teachings but rather failure of men to live up to it.

I am sad to hear that you have decided that this man would knowingly lie to others so I don't have much to say but I will try.

I remember seeing a Christian man who was muslim and with an uncurable disease and in his video he said how he came to christ and prayed for days and he was healed through the mercy of God. The muslims that commented all said he was lying. I understand that you may wish to belive he is lying but he loves God. For now my Brothers, May The Peace of God Be With You
