The United States Tennis Association held its Junior Spring Classic in Tucson the weekend of April 4th. It's a tournament for players under eighteen.
The youngest is six-year-old Jan Silva, a pint-sized tennis prodigy from California. Silva trains at one of the world's premiere tennis academies outside of Paris. KJZZ's Rene Gutel met him during her travels in Europe last month and has this report.

@asbte Back in the states. Playing local park tournaments vs kids his age. Wins about a third of the time.

This is why we should not call kids prodigies. He is now 9 and has trouble competing with local 10 year olds who were raised in a more traditional fashion. Let the kid be a kid.
