Retired New York State County Court Judge, Stuart Namm, recipient of the "Justice Thurgood Marshall Award' of the New York State Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys; the "David C. Michaels Award" of the New York State Bar Association; and a special award for standing "up for what was right at 'great personal sacrifice'..." from the NAACP, speaks by video to a March 2009 forum on "Wrongful Convictions" held at Tuoro Law School in Suffolk County, New York. Namm spent almost 17 years as a judge in Suffolk County, and for over 16 years has been a resident of North Carolina after blowing the whistle on a corrupt Police homicide squad and District Attorney's office in 1985, resulting in a five year investigation of Suffolk County justice by the State Investigations Commission. Choosing not to continue to practice law after his retirement in December 1992, he turned to television, where he was the judicial consultant and interviewer in a 13 part series entitled "The Serial Killers," seen in several countries, including the United States. Subsequently, he, his wife Nancy, and Frazer Ashford of the United Kingdom, producer of "The Serial Killers, coproduced a documentary about the Martin Tankleff case, entitled "A Question of Guilt," about a young man convicted of murdering both of his parents in Suffolk County, who served 17 1/2 years of a 50 year term before having his conviction overturned. The March 2009 conference at Tuoro Law School surrounds the Tankleff case, and others like it, where innocent people have been convicted as a result of police misconduct, wrongful identification, and the like. The Judge maintains a website at: www.legaleagleproductions.com, which encapsulates his work, now involving educational documentaries which he videotapes and edits himself, and which are shown free at various venues like libraries and senior centers. Many of his videos have been contributed to libraries and museums. Here he speaks of taking judicial nominations in New York state out of the hands of political bosses, like his former law partner, now deceased.

  • You make many assumptions in your salacious comment after the death of another. It was I, sir, who at the time of sentencing suggested to the Parole Board that he never again see the light of day. His wife was not the defendant, nor was she his wife, I believe, at the time the case was on trial. We came into contact when she presented me with affidavits suggesting that he may have been framed. I never knew the truth one way or another. A friend on Facebook is not necessarily a social friend..

  • If you recall hearing my testimony as a scared 13yr old then I find it hard to believe that you "did not know the truth one way or another" after hearing the still haunting details I stated. The fact you would cross the line & even discuss a past case you ruled on w/ a woman that is still involved with such a sick man is proof that you are where you belong (retired), because you my friend used bad judgement thinking he deserved a chance 2 prove his innocence which was & alwys will b non-exisent

  • Your honor, Take it from me. HE DID ALL THOSE THINGS. I am glad he is dead. I'm only sorry I did not get to watch him suffer. I personally know three adults who were the children this fat pig sexually assaluted on a regular basis. He was guilty. he was not framed. I have no sympathy for him or his deranged wife.

  • and then years later, the monster finally passes, and then that victim from your family see's the judge from her case all these years ago, giving condolences to the rapist current wife who is in denial of the things her husband was capable of? It would give that person a sick and nauseating feeling. You saved future victims by locking him up, but that does not make things magically better for those already suffering. Please in the future be more mindful of your actions

  • Monsters do not deserve respect, even in death. I just feel you crossed a line by adding her on Facebook, talking about your trips to Africa and the such. Now I respect what you TRIED to do for Suffolk County, but how would you feel, if I ruled a verdict of someone that raped your family member?

  • So do you make a habit of befriending the wives of rapist or??? A man calls himself Gabriel ....the left hand of god and then rapes my friend, you sentence him to jail and it's a shame he did not die there. Yet you have the audacity to disrespect his victims by be-friending the rapist wife on Facebook? My friend still fights the demon of her past that haunts her mind and you talk of exonerating his name? What is wrong with you "judge"

  • check the injustice in youtube "COPS BEAT ME"
