After refurbishing my Roland MC-4b vintage digital sequencer it's time to start usnig it.
Two simple sequences combined into a simple evolving structure which maybe sounds a bit like early Tangerine Dream or perhaps like Giorgio Moroder's 70s style ?!?

Mc4 is trigering Roland System 100m vintage analog modular. Modules used in this demo:
181 - 49key keyboard
112 - dual oscilator x 2
121 - dual filter
130 - dual VCA
140 - dual envelope generator & LFO
150 - ring modulator, sample&hold, noise,LFO

  • @XYtoTheDoubleG

Thanks! Looking forward to your 100m demo.

  • Wicked demo man, sounds amazing! I have a system 100 (not a 100m) and it sounds very different. I would love to get a system 100m too but I don't have the money or space at the moment. Anyway, I'm looking forward to checking out more of your system 100m demos!

  • @dracena Damn. :( Thank you greatly for your reply though! :) I'll have to go the route I didn't wish to and source the closest footprint momentaries that I'm able to. These little buggers are well sealed though, I may try to disassemble one. If It breaks beyond usefulness, it were dead anyways. If I'm able to repair it though, I'll photo further of them and / or shoot a video of it. This'll be way back on the 'backburner' tho as I've still much to build.

    Looking 4ward 2 more vids from u.

  • @dolphinicus

I had to remove all the rust on it, apply the protective varnish, change the side woods and other things.

Three keys didn't work and I ordered them from eBay - before finding any I scouted for them for months... I haven't seen any available anywhere in ages. Some parts are very hard to find :(

  • Refurbished MC-4B?? What did you have to do for yours? I received mine back after about 13 years without it, last year. Each of the pushbuttons have failed, though the rest of the machine appears functional. By chance if you had to replace any pushbuttons, if you could tell me where you sourced them from that would be wonderful! :)

Great pair of sequences as well. Makes the System 100M sound wonderful. (Weren't happy with mine in the mid 80's. Thought it's filter were too thin.)

  • Great stuff, good programming! Love the feeling, and the System 100's sound. Thanks. ;-)
