Out of the Louisiana State University comes a notion that Mr Fred Rogers of Mr Roger's Neighborhood aired on Public Television was evil in his message.

Critics say that Mr. Rogers instilled a sense of "entitlement" in children that ended up in disappointment later on in life.

  • Seriously? What did this professor wish to accomplish by stating Mr Rogers was evil? Aren't there more pressing issues in the world to study and worry about?

  • What is this world getting to? Mr Rogers was a saint. His show was sound and very peaceful and carried a positive message.

  • Mr. Rogers is timeless as many thinkers and creators before his time. There are young people today who think they are entitled to whatever and they may have done this because they "THOUGHT" Mr. Rogers was said so but thats not what he meant at all. Children need to be told they are special and adults need to be reminded that we are sometimes. If anything the fact that we are special should tell us that we actually have the freedom to choose and not the freedom to get everything for free.

  • @Xaves511 as part of the newer generation, that grew up with teachers and other figure of power growing telling us that we are special. It has created asense of "entitlement". Ad this sense of "entitlement" gets worse with ever new generation. There is no such thing as respect any more, just spoild rotten kids that think thaat the world owes them every thing because they exist. HOW CAN You support this. If you can't tell how bad this problem really is then you must be blid or just stupid.

  • OMG if Mister Rogers is evil, then what could be said about some of the other stuff that children are exposed to? Especially nowadays!

  • The person who started this must be a very insecure and unfriendly person - and he or she probably did not watch Mr Rogers and that's their problem.

  • I always thought that Mr Rogers was gay and never appealed to me. But to call him evil is way out there.

  • No their parents did that not Mr. Rogers... The education system is even on board now in stamping out kids who think they are all leaders and are willing to buy things to show their individuality... The media tells them to think they are the only ones that matter and they if someone does not "respect you" then they need to be punished. Oh I could so do a 20 min video on this...

  • I had heard of this before and thought it was absolutely insane. People seem to have too much time in their hands to nit pick on things like this. Mr Rogers had his own gentle style and did not harm.

  • I like to think I am special in my abilities but would not think I was entitled to something I did not work for. Mr Rogers was cool, just like Mr Dressup, here in Canada. Thanks for clarifying this.
