You have to swim breast stroke but they will teach you and support you through the training.

PLEAS REPLY: During this test, do you have to do breast stroke or will any stroke count? such as front crawl?. my reason for asking is that i can swim pretty well with many strokes, just not breast stroke.

@ryantika because not every person who joins the Royal Marines is fully prepared what they'll be up against and I'm pretty sure the RM's like that so that they can pick the best of the bunch :p

@VenomsToxicTablet lol yea ok. this basic swim test proves that huh? in the USMC, they do more shit in the water while with helmet and gear. the "royal marine" instructor states that these recruits (or whatever) swimming standards are extremely poor. be careful when comparing these guys to SEALS
