Because this was about psychodelics which are not typical drugs. BB is about Meth and being addicted to this crap.

This episode was retarded. He just goes to her apartment and they do drugs and fuck. What planet is this that a fat slob like him can get all that play from that fine piece of ass from collecting a debt?

Just because someone is part of your income doesn't mean you can't loathe them and look down on them. That finger incident, which is so central in Tony's life and path, his father told him that Satriale was a degenerate and not to gamble.

It makes even less sense that Tony would come to some sort of realization about Chris being dead, when he's been trying to justify how he doesn't feel bad that Chris is dead all episode.

Huge portion of Sopranos is about Tony + parents

tony could also be noticing that his good fortune is unrelated to his selfish and amoral actions, and thus be claiming that his idea of a kind of a judicial god is dead. #peyote

not a bad idea but I don't think there's any real relevance to that theory. Johnny boy soprano didn't loath gamblers, they were part of his income, just like most mobsters in the sopranos, they use degenerate gamblers to exploit money from them. That episode with the flashbacks is a fair few seasons back and the fact of the matter is that gambling is just part of the Mob lifestyle. Tony isn't betting on his children's ages either, 24 is the most lucky number and neither Meadow or AJ are 24. .

Tony was relieved with Chris' death the entire episode; it makes no sense to have as a revelation. IMO, his recent gambling was tied to a rejection of the values of his father, who loathed gamblers, and the 'he's dead' moment, as a reaction to his winning, refers instead to Johnny Boy and has something to do with liberation from his father. That he's betting on the ages of his children also makes me think it has more to do with a parental relationship than anything with Chris.

hes dead refers to the relief of chris's death rather than regret. Chris was a burden to tony bringing him bad luck and problems. now that chris is dead tonys luck is back in

Was the next episode the one that started off with him being stuck in the desert somewhere and not knowing how he got there? I never saw this one, but remember that one.
