I recently added a short stretch of gauge one track in the midle of my 4.75" gauge ride-on track.
A duo of Accucraft livesteamers (a Mogul and a 2-cylinder shay) were able to pull me.

  • Fantastic! :) I have one of the 3-cylinder Shays myself. What did you use for trucks under your "riding car"? - I would think conventional G-gause trucks would collapse under a person's weight.

  • Hi,

I used a regular 4.75" gauge ridding car with ball bearings.

  • I am thinking of tryinvg this out with my accucraft k-28, but a bit worried about pulling my tender/couplings to shreds. Any modifications nesecarry to the loco?
