When Tuscan Evening was racing as a 2yr.old and 3yr.old in Ireland and the UK, she didn't race badly. But she had a lot of 2nd and 3rd place finishes. She even ran 2nd in the 2008 Irish 1000 Guineas. But since she's come to America, this mare has really flourished. Now having rolled off five Graded Stakes victories in a row. This was #4. She hasn't lost a race since she ran 2nd to the great mare Ventura in November's Matriarch Stakes at Hollywood Park. No disgrace in losing to Ventura. IMO.
