IMPORTANT: There's a trick about covering the tissue ball with Brian. If you apply too much force while sticking Brian on tissues, then the shape will be bad. Do it as lightly as possible. You should unwrap some Brian first, then stick it around the ball. Not unwrap as you stick. I hope you understand what I mean.
I should have said this in the video but... I realized I had not mentioned it, after 3,5 years!

So... Here's the original video description:
_________

There are other videos about making juggling balls. This is my method.

The materials in the video is for three balls. If you need more balls, get some more materials.

______________

Hi Metamorphmagus666, I better write here: (this might be useful info for some other people as well)

If you follow my method, balls are going to be hard and bad-shaped. I know that, that's why I bought proper juggling balls. I was aware that I wouldn't be able to find good balls in Turkey so I bought 12 balls when I had the chance.

I started juggling with balls like this:
http://www.oddballs.co.uk/thuds-and-beanbags-budget-balls-c-1190_1376_1618.html

After a month I made 7 black balls using this method. (I made ~10 other balls before black ones). They were far better than my first balls. They had flour in them. I used them for 4 months. They were in great shape after four months of impacts. I got used to them. They would roll off on the floor, but I used to juggle on grass, so it was not important for me.
(by the way the balloons I used were made of latex so they survived for months - after 4 months small holes began to appear on them)

I made about 140 balls. I tried lots of things. For example, if you don't use tissues and Brian, the balls become much softer. However, they are very likely to be torn - surely nobody wants to clean salt sand flour rice or whatever. If you don't use good quality balloons, the outer layer becomes torn which makes the ball look awful - they even melted in summer!

This is the best way I could find. I think this is better than tennis balls because tennis balls bounce off your hands.

So, I recommend you use my method then do something to make the balls softer (smash them a hundred times or put them under the sofa I don't know..)

OR

If you think you can sew,

http://www.pjb.com.au/jug/leatherballs.html

http://www.jugglingdb.com/compendium/skills/equipment/making/balls/sewingpatt...

There is a little(!) sewing trick to make a closed surface. I couldn't even dare to try it. One more thing, if you decide to sew your own balls, try to get more information on a material called VINLEX. I think proper balls are made of something like that.

So... Hope you make balls as cheap as mine, as easy as mine, and better than mine. Share your experience.

By the way, I watched your video. I don't know how much you practice a day but for two weeks, that is good juggling.
These helped me a lot:

and tim kelly's video... search tim kelly on youtube (in youtube?? whatever...)

  • nice vid and that song on the back ground who made it and wat's the name of it

  • @BASKETBALLJEZUS These pieces are very famous and played differently by many different people. I don't know who made this particular version. Four years ago I looked for "neutral" and good quality music so I decided on these. Search youtube for "rondo alla turca mozart" and "vivaldi spring". Or go to the adress bar of your browser, delete whatever comes after "watch?v=" and put OCSevzJQ2-Y or -4kTei0XrCs instead. It is not allowed to put links in comments.

  • i would never recomend home made balls, its not that expencive to by beanbags or some ball like that... much better quality, and when u get better go and get some russian mmx balls:D they are like heaven to juggle with:D

but throw bad balls like in this video would be hell for a real juggler...

  • @yauka123 True. Once you get the feel of professional balls, you don't want to juggle with these. I made these because I did not want to spend money on a hobby that I had just started. Plus, juggling equipment was not sold at any shops in my town.

And also, me and my friends usually teach juggling at public events. Like fairs for example. People we don't know come and learn to juggle. And sometimes they "borrow" the balls. For good. For events like those I find it wiser to use expendable balls.

  • But balloons make your hands stink like old rubber!!!

  • @pauliux11 Then use condoms instead. They are more durable, plus it is possible to find glow-in-the-dark condoms.

If I was to write something without a joke, I would write: "I never had that problem. Maybe you should try it with some other balloons - if you haven't already done that."
