@kanguesso He looks like he has long enough legs that he could reach for a hook with that leg rather then continue over the shoulder for the omoplata. Or i suppose you could just put your knee down and grab the far side shoulder before he turtles up.

I am wondering if it is possible to take your opponent's back after you perform the sweep instead of going of an omoplata.

@Jahfari1 hmm you have a point but if he lets go of the trapped right arm and pulls the left arm out of the way at 1.24, he could just switch his hips and end up in side mount, theres alot to play with. but thats all theory lol.

Sorry that I train with a World Champ, Pan Am Champ, US Open Champ, ADCC vet, Brazilian National Champ and so on... BTW in a way you're actually correct, but you said it's hip and bicep control, while that is true, there are other aspects of spider guard, soles on bicep, shin on biceps, and so on...
