I definitely remember these. However, this isn't the right soundtrack for this bumper. The correct soundtrack featured a Joe Raposo-like light jazzy groove in the background the momemt the first bird hatched from the egg and at the end, when the last bird tweeted the notes and they formed "Sesame Street", the opening notes for the theme song were strummed on a jazz guitar.
I can't say I remember these bumpers. Maybe they didn't include those in Canada? Anyway I have to show this to my daughters, who love birds, especially PELICANS!!!
Well, do you live anywhere near New York City? If so, just check out the Museum. at West 52nd Street and Fifth Avenue, open 12-6pm. If not, well, it's something to try to fit in if you're ever in the area! (Though people might think it odd for a tourist to head there first instead of the Empire State Building or something...)
Unless there was a similar one with Oscar, what you're probably remembering is the one with a cartoon shady-looking character slinking along into a trashcan, attaching fins to the sides, lighting a match, and blasting off like a rocket.
I only know that one because it happens to be the title to #560, which is in the Museum of Television and Radio in Manhattan.
when i was little this bum[per freaked me out for some reason :/

I saw this on "Sesamstrasse" once except the bird was black and the pelican's beak was pink. Do you have that variant?

Gotta love that last bird's smile!

I remember this. But wasn't there one where Oscar gets in his trash can and blasts off the screen? Something like that I think. Thanks for the post.
